Welcome to my web site.

My paintings are inspired by a career studying, preserving and conserving historic textiles, but while textiles are frequently my starting point and provide much of my visual vocabulary, my subject has now become time, change and transformation of organic matter from one state to the next, but often with hints of the past remaining.

I studied at the Hornsey College of Art, now part of Middlesex University, gaining a BA(Hons) First Class in 1977. After a career as a textile conservator, working for major museums and stately homes, I am now painting full time, based in my Warwickshire studio. I was elected an Associate Member of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists in April 2009.
